*Pump up Naze Millionaires ready for first win of the season*

Heartland FC will have a brilliant chance to record their first league win of the season when they trade tackles with Katsina United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday in a Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday Four tie.

The Naze Millionaires are on a three game unbeaten streak against the Chanji Boys since 2021. In fact Katsina United’s only win over the Owerri side in the past five encounters was on the opening day of the 2020 league season. It was a controversial 3-2 victory in Katsina with Heartland FC leading until the 88th minute before two late goals stabbed their hearts.

Heartland FC have beaten the Chanji Boys 1-0 and 2-0 respectively in their last two visits to Owerri while Jonas Emmanuel’s goal helped rescued a point in Heartland FC’s last trip to Katsina on February 21st 2022.

This game is important for both teams but Heartland FC need it more having only garnered two points from possible nine. They were thrilled to celebrate the 1-1 draw in Akure against Sunshine Stars last weekend and the joy will go rooftops if they secure their first maximum points of the season this weekend.

Heartland FC head coach, Christian Obi knows the enormity of the task at hand this weekend and he has charged his boys to solely concentrate on the weekend tie and not be carried away by their gallantry in Akure.

In a chat with Heartland FC Media, Obi noted to his players that only a comfortable home win on Sunday will do justice to their commendable point in Akure while adding that his players must remain focused and undaunted in their resolve to secure their first win of the season.

“It was a good fight in Akure and the praise goes to the players and everyone at Heartland FC including our supportive Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma and the wonderful Commissioner for Youth Sports and Social Development, Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo. We do not have any reason to complain than to ensure we beat Katsina United and record our long due first win of the season.

“We have had enough time to train very well and bond together. The injured players are returning and we are in high spirits to play the game. We have told the players that only a win would be ideal after the impressive point against Sunshine Stars. We can’t miss this chance.”
