Edo state Governor Obaseki hosts Super Eagles AFCON Star Bright Osayi-Samuel in Benin

The executive Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki on Wednesday June 12th 2024, hosted Super Eagles star Bright Osayi-Samuel (M.O.N) at the Government house in Benin city Edo state.

In a brief ceremony held inside the government house, Governor Obaseki was full of praise of Bright Osayi-Samuel for remembering his root and coming to identify with his people.

“I sincerely tell you today that it’s a pleasure hosting you at the government house looking at the exploits you have been doing out there at AFCON with the Super Eagles of Nigeria and your club in Turkey, we are proud of you for coming back home to identify with your origin it means so much”

“You can see the transformation Our government has made transforming every sector so any day you are off season, kindly come back home and be sure of having a swell time”

Responding, the Super Eagles Star and Fenerbache defender Bright Osayi-Samuel thanked the Governor for everything and also mentioned that He will support the Edo state U-13 football championship.

“I have been coming to Nigeria for sometimes now but I have never been to Edo state before so when the opportunity came up, I was delighted and today I am here to see and identify with my people”

“My roots is here and I have decided to also give back through the sponsorship of the Edo state FA U-13 football championship that will start soon where some talent will be discover to be like me”.

Rounding up the ceremony, Bright Osayi-Samuel (M.O.N) presented jersey of both his Super Eagles jerseys to Governor Godwin Obaseki and First Lady Betty Obaseki including former President of Nigeria Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

In attendance were, the father and mother of Bright, Sir Nelson Osayi, Mrs Oredola Osayi-Samuel, Ademola Lookman father, Edo state FA Chairman Mr Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, family and friends.
