The Chairman of Plateau State Football Association, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has refused to take glory for the positive changes football has experienced on the Plateau since he came to power some months ago.
Speaking to journalists after he was bestowed with the Plateau Sportsman Personality of the Year Award by the Social Media Influencers . In his words: “I want to first and foremost thank the Social Media Influencers on the Plateau for this award. But I need to clear the air that all these feats we at the PFA are attaining that’s bringing encomiums from all and sundry wouldn’t have been possible if we don’t have a sports loving Governor who also gives that fatherly support. These accolades should be directed directed to His Excellency also, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for giving us the Plateau State Football Association the enabling and conducive environment to work and put all our plans and mandate to fruition. We are just starting, you’ve seen nothing yet. We want football to be an envy not to other States of the Federation alone, but the African continent at large.’
Hon. Kwande continues; “it’s a double honour for me as the person that occupy the seat I formerly occupied as a Reps Member that consists of Bassa and Jos North constituency who also happens to be the Chairman of Bassa Amateur Football Association in the person of Honourable Daniel Asama is the one presenting this award to me. I really appreciate this honour bestowed on me.”
