Chairman of the NPFL Under 17 Youth league & former chairman of Abia Warriors Football club, Pastor Emeka Iyama says the ongoing NPFL under 17 youth league is a tournament strictly for talent discovery and football development.
Iyama who was present at the Enugu zone of the tournament maintained that it was necessary to organize the youth league to help NPFL Clubs and the country at large produce more football talents.
“This tournament is mainly for talent discovery, and already as we have seen the football talents spotted so far at the various zones of the tournament, and with what I’ve seen from the Enugu Zone so far, am really impressed by their level of play, which am sure will even be better developed In the coming years”
The former Abia Warriors Fc Chairman also appreciated the leadership of the Nigerian football federation (NFF) and the Nigerian premier football league (NPFL) for their decision to organize the tournament.
“Organizing a tournament like this across the country requires great planning, and I thank the NFF and the NPFL for believing in the project, with their support as well in every aspect, this shows that the future is bright for Nigerian football”.
