FIFA has officially unveiled the Best XI of the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the conclusion of the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Newly crowned world champions Spain lifted the trophy for the second time in their history after edging defending champions Argentina 1-0 in a dramatic final. Despite their title-winning campaign, La Roja have only three representatives in the Team of the Tournament Rodri, Pedro Porro, and Marc Cucurella.

Runners-up Argentina are represented by captain Lionel Messi and defender Lisandro Martínez, both of whom played key roles in the Albiceleste’s run to the final.

Semi-finalists France boast the highest number of outfield selections, with Kylian Mbappé, Dayot Upamecano, and Michael Olise earning places after impressive performances throughout the tournament.

Norway’s goal machine Erling Haaland leads the attack following a sensational World Cup campaign that saw the Scandinavians reach the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.

One of the tournament’s biggest surprises came in goal, where Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha was rewarded for a string of outstanding performances that helped his nation enjoy a memorable debut World Cup campaign.

For England, midfield star Jude Bellingham is the lone representative after another outstanding tournament in which he inspired the Three Lions to the semi-finals with a series of match-winning displays.

The FIFA Best XI celebrates the standout performers who lit up the 2026 FIFA World Cup, recognising players whose brilliance and consistency defined one of the most memorable editions of football’s biggest tournament.
