ODSFA Signals Fresh Start, Unveils Duke Udi and Banjo Adepoju Ahead of NNL Campaign

The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has officially unveiled former international, Duke Udi, as the Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars FC, alongside Banjo Adepoju ,who was presented as the club’s Head Coach ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The colorful unveiling ceremony, held in a vibrant atmosphere of the agency at Oda road in Akure was performed by the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, *Mr. Divine Ogbonnaya* and witnessed by key stakeholders in the state’s football family.
Among those in attendance were the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association, Otunba Dele Ajayi , members of the FA board, management staff of ODSFA, sports journalists, members of the Sunshine Stars Supporters Club, and other football stakeholders.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Ogbonnaya charged Duke Udi to remain focused on the enormous task ahead and avoid all forms of distractions as the club pursues its objectives for the forthcoming NNL campaign.
“We have confidence in your ability and experience. We will provide you with the necessary support to excel in this assignment. Please stay focused and let us work together to achieve our target this season,” Ogbonnaya stated.
The ODSFA Chairman reiterated the agency’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for the technical crew and players, stressing that the ultimate goal remains securing a successful campaign and returning Sunshine Stars FC to its rightful position among Nigeria’s elite football clubs.
In his response, Duke Udi expressed gratitude to the Ondo State Football Agency and the management of Sunshine Stars FC for the confidence reposed in him.
The former Nigerian international assured stakeholders that professionalism, discipline, and merit would be the guiding principles of his reign .
“I want to thank the management for this opportunity. I assure everyone that merit will always be my priority in selecting players and making decisions. With hard work, dedication, and God’s grace, we will achieve the desired goals for Sunshine Stars FC,” Udi said.
The unveiling ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for Sunshine Stars FC as preparations intensify for the 2026/2027 NNL season, with supporters and stakeholders optimistic that the newly constituted technical crew will lead the Akure-based side to greater success.
The event concluded with goodwill messages from stakeholders and a renewed commitment by all parties to work collectively towards restoring the club’s glory and achieving its season objectives.
