Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been crowned the Premier League Player of the Season following an exceptional campaign that saw him inspire the Red Devils back into the UEFA Champions League places.

The Portuguese midfielder continues to cement his reputation as one of the finest playmakers in world football after producing remarkable numbers throughout the season. Fernandes has scored eight league goals and registered an astonishing 20 assists in 37 appearances, equalling the all-time Premier League record for assists in a single season.

His latest assist came during Manchester United’s victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend, a performance that further highlighted his influence in Erik ten Hag’s side as United secured third place in the table.

Fernandes’ creativity has been unmatched across the division this season. The United skipper created 132 chances — more than any other player in the Premier League — finishing a massive 43 chances ahead of second-placed Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool FC.

Earlier this month, Fernandes was also honoured with the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year award, underlining his dominance and consistency throughout the campaign.

The award marks another historic milestone for Manchester United, as Fernandes becomes the club’s first player to win the Premier League Player of the Season award since legendary Serbian defender Nemanja Vidić claimed the honour in 2011.

The winner was selected through a combination of public votes and a panel of football experts, with Fernandes beating several high-profile nominees to the prestigious accolade.

Among the players shortlisted were David Raya, Gabriel Magalhães and Declan Rice of Arsenal FC, Erling Haaland of Manchester City FC, Antoine Semenyo, Igor Thiago of Brentford FC, and Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest.

Fernandes’ leadership, creativity, and consistency have been instrumental in Manchester United’s resurgence this season, with the midfielder once again proving why he remains the heartbeat of the club.

Manchester United will round off their Premier League campaign with an away trip to Brighton & Hove Albion FC on Sunday, where Fernandes will look to cap off a memorable individual season in style.
