DollyP Sports Academy has desrcibed the purported suspension of the Academy by Kwara State football Association over the recently concluded scouting tournament held between April 13-17 as anti-development and disruptive to the growth of grassroots football.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Ahmed Yusuf on Thursday, the Academy questioned why it was suspended for organising a scouting tournament despite duly informing the Kwara FA.

Noting how it has held several scouting to open doors of european oppurtuinities for young footballers within the state and beyond, the academy stated it has never shown any disregard for regulatory procedures in any of its activities.

He said “The Kwara FA was duly notified of the scouting programme through a letter we submitted to them on March 2nd,2027 and they acknowledged it. This is a practice we have held on to for all the six scouting progamme we have done in the state”

He further noted that Kwara FA’s claim of not obtaining required approval for the scouting is inconsistent with its own practice, having organised such a programme in the past with due notification to the FA without any suspension.

“We have consistently been law abiding and recognised the Kwara FA as partner in progress”, said the Ahmed who added that the Academy has also keep up with payment of its annual due”

“The question of approval also needs to be answered by the FA, because if we have never been suspended in the past, why this latest edition where six weeks notice was even submitted?” he asked.

He also maintained that the Academy has never been cautioned against any action by the Kwara FA in respect to its scouting tournaments as claimed by FA in its letter, hence the “claim of non-compliance is baseles’.

While noting how the scouting competition has soo far seen about ten players moved to European clubs, he added that the Academy’s sole aim remains helping young and talented footballers scale up in their careers.

Ahmed who noted that Kwara-based football Academies and clubs have always particiated and benefitted from its programmes, stressed that some of the players who have secured breakthroughs from its scouting tournament are mostly Kwarans, whose roots are naturally tied to the three geopolitical zones of the state.

He added that private football investors in Kwara state must be encouraged with genuine support, noting how several football outfits, including DollyP SA has continued to provide platform for youth empowerment which has led to the reduction of social vices in the society.

“We remain focused on helping players achieve their career goals and also open to partnership that will strentgthen this commitment.

“All our programmes have been held in adhrence to football rules and regulations, including the provision of standard referees, medicals, security and non-compromise of facility standard” he added
