Turkey: Nigerian Trio Inspire Trabzonspor To Victory Over Osimhen’s Galatasaray

Three Super Eagles stars delivered a standout performance on Saturday as Trabzonspor secured an impressive 2-1 victory over league leaders Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.
Paul Onuachu opened the scoring early in the encounter, netting his first-ever goal against Galatasaray to hand Trabzonspor a dream start. The towering striker, who previously featured for Southampton, continues to enjoy a prolific campaign, taking his league tally to an impressive 22 goals this season.
Galatasaray, led by Nigerian star Victor Osimhen, responded strongly after the break and managed to restore parity in the second half, setting up a tense finish to the contest.
However, Trabzonspor were not to be denied. Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu stepped up to score the decisive goal, marking his third league strike of the season and putting his side back in front.
The winning goal was expertly created by veteran forward Anthony Nwakaeme, whose assist proved pivotal in sealing the victory.
The trio’s combined brilliance Onuachu’s opener, Nwaiwu’s match-winner, and Nwakaeme’s creativity ensured Trabzonspor claimed all three points in a fiercely contested clash, dealing a significant blow to Galatasaray’s title charge.
