Dunama Stars FC Crowned Champions of Coach Mbwas Mangut Tournament in Lafia

Dunama Stars FC have emerged winners of the maiden edition of the Coach Mbwas Mangut Football Tournament held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The tournament, which featured 16 teams, reached an exciting climax at the Dunama Primary School Field, where Dunama Stars FC faced Lagwada FC in a highly competitive final.
Lagwada FC dominated much of the game and created several scoring opportunities, but Dunama Stars showed great discipline and defensive organization to neutralize their opponents’ threats.
After a goalless draw in regulation time, the match was decided via a penalty shootout. Dunama Stars converted all their spot kicks, while Lagwada FC missed one, handing Dunama Stars a well-deserved victory and the title of champions.
Speaking during the medal presentation, Coach Mbwas Mangut expressed his delight at the success of the tournament and the level of football displayed.
> “I am very happy with the performance of both teams today. What started as a simple idea has grown into something significant that attracted many spectators,” he said.
He also praised the support from the Lafia community and assured that efforts would be made to sustain and improve the competition.
> “The support from the people of Lafia has been massive. We will continue to do our best to bring joy to the community,” he added.
Coach Mangut concluded by appealing to football lovers in the state to continue supporting and praying for Nasarawa United as the Nigeria Premier Football League season approaches its crucial stage.
Notable dignitaries present at the final included Musa Adamu (Team Manager, Nasarawa United), Oruma (Board Member, Nasarawa United), Coach Olatunji Baruwa MON, Coach Daniel Nur, Coach Nas, Aliyu Ibrahim Uba, Lawrence Simi, among others.
