The Chairman of the Bet9ja Ondo State U-19 Football League, Yomi Seriki, has urged the eight teams participating in the Super Eight competition to maintain discipline and uphold the integrity of the sponsor.

Seriki made this call on Monday at Club Elan, Akure, during the draw ceremony for the Super Eight stage of the competition.

He assured all participating teams of fairness, emphasizing that the organisers are committed to ensuring a level playing field throughout the tournament.

According to him, this year’s edition is designed to discover young talents who will form a team to represent the state in the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO).

He added that selected players will also have the opportunity to feature in friendly matches against Beyond Limits Academy in Ogun State, where outstanding talents could secure professional contracts.

Seriki noted that the competition has transitioned from its previous open format to an age-grade system aimed at promoting youth development.

“We realised the old format was not contributing meaningfully to football development in the state, so we introduced an age limit to identify and nurture young talents.

“If one or two players are discovered, it will positively impact their families and the state at large,” he said.

The Super Eight fixtures are as follows:

Ipole FC vs Muyi Stars FC

Royal Goldwin SA vs Ondo East United

Real Ifon FC vs L&B FA

Benfad FA vs Opeyemi FA

All matches will be played at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, starting from Monday, March 29.

All the eight teams that qualified were also presented with jerseys branded with the official logo of the competition.
