Mobil Naija Cup Draw Pits Emiloju FC Against Team Edo, VIA FA

Emiloju Football Club of Surulere, Lagos, is set to embark on an exciting campaign in the 2026 Mobil Naija Cup after being drawn in a competitive Group D alongside Team Edo and VIA Football Academy of Oyo State.
The draw sets the stage for a thrilling group phase, with all three teams expected to bring intensity, quality, and determination as they battle for the sole ticket to the semi-finals. Only the group winner will progress, making every fixture decisive.
Emiloju FC will kick off their campaign against Team Edo on Wednesday at 12:00 pm in what promises to be a high-energy opener.
The Lagos-based side will then return to action on Thursday at 12:00 pm to face VIA FA of Oyo State in their second and final group match.
Reacting to the outcome of the draw, Chairman of Emiloju FC, Alhaji Musiliu Jimoh Alao, expressed confidence in his team’s readiness while acknowledging the quality of the opposition.

“We have great respect for both Team Edo and VIA FA; they are strong sides with good structure and talented players,” Alao stated. “However, we did not come into this competition to merely participate we are here to compete and to win.”
The Chairman further emphasized the team’s level of preparation and determination to make a strong statement in the tournament.
“Our players and technical crew have been working tirelessly in training, and we believe in the philosophy and discipline within this squad.
The draw is challenging, but it is also an opportunity for us to prove our strength and character,” he added.
Alao also called on supporters and fans to rally behind the team as they aim for success on the national stage.
“We urge our supporters to stand firmly behind the team. Their encouragement means a lot to the players, and together, we can achieve something special in this competition.”
With the group stage fixtures set and anticipation building, Emiloju FC will be aiming to secure maximum points and book a place in the semi-finals.
The grand finale of the 2026 Mobil Naija Cup is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, where the tournament’s best teams will battle for ultimate glory.
All eyes will now be on Group D as Emiloju FC begins its quest for silverware with determination, focus, and belief.
