Akure North United have been crowned champions of the maiden edition of the Ondo State Club Owners Association Pre-Season Cup, capping off an exciting and competitive tournament that showcased emerging football talents across the state.

The highly anticipated grand finale lived up to expectations, delivering a tense and closely contested encounter. Both sides battled fiercely throughout regulation time but were unable to find the decisive breakthrough, as the match ended in a stalemate at full-time.

Earlier in the day, Agbana Wonderful Football Academy secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Ipole City to claim third place. Their dominant display highlighted their attacking prowess and resilience, as they bounced back strongly to finish the tournament on a high note.

Speaking at the grand finale, the Chairman of the Ondo State Club Owners Association expressed satisfaction with the success of the tournament, describing it as a major step forward for grassroots football development in the state.

He commended all participating teams for their sportsmanship, discipline, and high level of competition, noting that the tournament has provided a valuable platform for young players to showcase their talents.
