Sunshine Stars Football Club of Ondo State extended their impressive run in the 2025/26 Nigeria National League season with a commanding 2–0 away victory over Abia Comets FC in Aba.
The encounter, held at the historic Enyimba International Stadium, saw the Owena Whales secure their first away win of the campaign in fine fashion.
Winger Ayo Adejubu broke the deadlock in the 57th minute before Ikulamberu Ariyo doubled the advantage in the 72nd minute, sealing a deserved victory in the highly competitive Conference A clash between the two experienced sides.
Reacting after the match, Adejubu attributed the win to God, stating that his primary objective is to help his childhood club regain promotion to the top flight of Nigerian football.
On his part, Ariyo described his goal as a major source of motivation and assured supporters that the team remains fully focused on securing promotion at the end of the season.
Both players also commended their teammates, the management, and the coaching crew for their collective effort.
