Heavenly gifted and hard working Chairman of Dunamis Icon, Sir Constantine Itiakpo Ikpokpo says the Niger Delta Games has changed the face of sports in Nigeria as it has grossly been able to create a good path for young talented athletes to showcase their God given talents to be discovered and nurtured to stardom.
Sir Ikpokpo, made this heartwarming statement in a press briefing, explained that, the Niger Delta Games has revealed that talents are loaded in the region but have not been truly tapped by the States due to policy and programs geared towards winning at all cost and not focusing on developing the athletes for the future.
Itiakpo added, that the games had also been able to showcase Nigeria’s future stars who if thoroughly guided, nurtured will become world champions.
He further explained that the games have changed the mentality of competition in the region and narrowed the seeming gap among the states in the region.
Ikpokpo whole heartedly commended the Niger Delta Development Commission and other stakeholders for believing and investing in the Niger Delta Games, that has now become the harvest ground for the region to harvest future talents.
He urged the NDDC to graciously sustain their immense support for the games as it remained a pivotal avenue for sports to thrive not only in the Niger Delta region, but the entire country.
