‎Nasarawa United continued their impressive start to the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a 2–1 comeback victory over former champions Enugu Rangers on Sunday in Lafia.

‎The Solid Miners fell behind early when Wisdom Ebirim put the visitors ahead in the 19th minute. However, last season’s NPFL top scorer, Anas Yusuf, restored parity for Nasarawa United from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute after a Rangers defender was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box.

‎The hosts pressed for a winner after the break and were rewarded in the 61st minute through John Joshua, who latched onto a precise cross from Yusuf and slotted home calmly to spark wild celebrations at the Lafia City Stadium.

‎The atmosphere was electric, with fans and dignitaries — including the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu — applauding United’s spirited display.

‎With the victory, Coach Mangut Mbwas’ side extended their unbeaten run to five matches and strengthened their grip at the top of the NPFL table with 19 points from eight games, four points clear of second-placed Abia Warriors.

‎The Solid Miners will next travel to Lagos to face Ikorodu City FC, who currently sit eighth on the log with 11 points, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, before returning home to host reigning champions Remo Stars.
