Bendel Insurance Football Club has announced the suspension of its Head Coach, Greg Ikhenoba, following a string of disappointing results in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The decision, which takes immediate effect from Monday, October 6, 2025, was approved by the Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC), Amadin Desmond Enabulele.
In a statement released by the club’s Media Officer, Kehinde Osagiede, the commission expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s recent performances — particularly the 1–0 home defeat to Nasarawa United on Matchday Seven at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
According to Enabulele, the club’s results this season have fallen short of expectations, prompting the management to take immediate action in order to restore confidence and improve the team’s fortunes.
Meanwhile, Coach Baldwin Bazuaye has been appointed in an interim capacity to lead the technical crew until further notice.
The club thanked fans for their continued support and assured them that necessary measures are being taken to bring Bendel Insurance back to winning ways.
