The management of Kwara United Football Club has confirmed the dismissal of Head Coach Tunde Sanni following the team’s disappointing 1–0 home loss to Abia Warriors in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 7 fixture on Sunday at the Rashidi Yekini Stadium, Ilorin.
In an official statement released by the club’s media department, Chairman Mr. Kumbi Titiloye announced that Coach Sanni has been asked to step aside with immediate effect as part of measures to arrest the club’s declining form.
The decision follows a string of uninspiring results that have left the Harmony Boys in 10th position on the NPFL table after six matches, with only two wins to their name this season.
Assistant Coach Ashifat Suleiman has been appointed in an interim capacity and will take charge of the team’s outstanding Matchday 6 fixture against Kano Pillars on Wednesday.
According to inside sources, the club’s hierarchy is already exploring potential candidates to fill the vacant Technical Adviser position on a permanent basis.
The management has called on supporters to remain patient and continue backing the team as it seeks to bounce back stronger in the coming weeks.
