‎Bendel Insurance head coach, Greg Ikhenoba, has urged fans and stakeholders of the club to remain patient and supportive as the team battles through a difficult run of form in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

‎Speaking after the 1–0 home defeat to Nasarawa United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Ikhenoba admitted that his side’s lack of concentration and missed chances cost them the match.

‎ “We lost the match due to lack of concentration, and there is nothing we can do now to change the result. Congratulations to the winning team,” the coach said.

‎“Nobody in this kind of situation will be happy — I’m not happy at all.”

‎The Benin Arsenals dominated possession and created more chances, but were undone by a late strike from Nasarawa United’s Garba Mohammed in stoppage time. Reflecting on the result, Ikhenoba expressed disappointment over his team’s inability to make their dominance count.

‎ “This is not the result I expected. I keep telling the boys to stay alert until the final whistle or risk being punished for their mistakes,” he stated.

‎“We made too many errors and failed to convert our chances, especially in the first half — and we paid dearly for it. I just hope we learn from this.”

‎Despite the setback, the coach remains optimistic about his side’s ability to bounce back.

‎ “We just need to stay focused and work harder. Who knows? It’s possible for us to make up for this home loss in Lagos. Anything can happen — we’re capable of getting results on the road,” he said.

‎Ikhenoba also appealed directly to the club’s passionate supporters to remain patient and keep faith in the team.

‎ “Let me use this opportunity to appeal to our fans and stakeholders to keep believing in us. I understand how disappointed they are right now, but we are all in this together. I believe we’ll get back on our feet again,” he added.

‎Bendel Insurance have struggled for consistency this season, managing just one win and three draws from seven matches. They will look to return to winning ways when they face Ikorodu City FC in their next league fixture in Lagos.
