‎Super Falcons forward Ifeoma Onumonu has officially announced her retirement from professional football at the age of 31, bringing to an end a remarkable career that spanned over a decade of excellence and inspiration.

‎Born and raised in California, Onumonu began playing football at just eight years old, showing early promise that would eventually see her rise to the top tiers of women’s football.

‎Throughout her illustrious career, she proudly represented Nigeria on the global stage, featuring in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Olympic Games, and the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). ‎At the club level, Onumonu enjoyed great success, turning out for top teams across France and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States. Her crowning moment came when she won the NWSL Championship with Gotham FC, adding to her AFCON triumph with the Super Falcons.
