‎Victor Osimhen delivered a landmark moment in Istanbul on Tuesday night, scoring the decisive goal that gave Galatasaray a 1–0 victory over Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League clash at the RAMS Park.

‎The Nigerian striker not only secured three crucial points for the Turkish Super Lig champions, but also etched his name in history as the first Nigerian ever to reach 10 Champions League goals.

‎ Galatasaray were awarded a penalty in the 16th minute after Dominik Szoboszlai fouled Kerem Yilmaz inside the area.

‎ Osimhen stepped up and calmly converted from the spot, sending the home fans into wild celebration.

‎Despite dominating spells of possession, Liverpool wasted several clear chances and were denied a late penalty following a VAR review.

‎The Reds’ night worsened as key goalkeeper Alisson and forward Hugo Ekitike both left the pitch injured.

‎This was Osimhen’s first Champions League goal for Galatasaray since his summer move from Napoli.

‎The strike took his overall UCL tally to 10 goals, making him the first Nigerian player to achieve double figures in Europe’s elite competition.

‎In doing so, Osimhen surpassed previous Nigerian record-holder Obafemi Martins, who managed nine goals in his career.
