Oluwatope Ayokunle, Chief Executive Officer of Tubaba Football Scouting Academy Network, Nigeria (TFSANN), on Friday announced that preparations are in full swing for a 4-day scouting programme in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Ayokunle, a former Secretary and Publicity Officer of Sunshine Stars, revealed that eight teams are expected to feature in the event, which will take place at the Ondo State Sports Complex. The programme is proudly sponsored by Henry 707 Sports Limited.
Currently serving as the Public Relations Officer of Inspire Sports Academy International Lagos, Ayokunle is also an experienced scouting consultant. Speaking to journalists in Akure, he emphasized that the upcoming programme will be the 17th edition organized by the network.
According to him, “The scouting programme has produced many great footballers who are currently playing both within and outside the country. We will not relent in our efforts to continue hunting for budding talents, which is why we decided to bring the programme to Ondo State.”
The format of the tournament will see the eight participating teams divided into two groups, with each team playing three matches. Winners of the two groups will advance to the final, while outstanding individual players identified during the competition will be invited to Lagos for final evaluation.
Prizes have also been outlined for the tournament: N100,000 for the winner, N50,000 for the runner-up, N30,000 for third place, and N20,000 for the highest goal scorer.
