‎Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, the Falconets, are back on home soil after a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Rwanda’s She-Amavubi in their 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign.

‎The team touched down in Nigeria on Monday morning from Kigali, buoyed by the crucial first-leg win secured on Sunday at the Kigali-Pelé Stadium.

‎The decisive moment came in the 70th minute when Alaba Olabiyi fired home the only goal of the encounter, handing Nigeria both the victory and a vital advantage heading into the return leg.

‎With the second leg scheduled for Saturday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, the Falconets have immediately shifted focus to preparations in the Oyo State capital.

‎Coaches and officials have confirmed that the players are in high spirits, eager to deliver a strong performance in front of home fans.

‎Victory in Ibadan would guarantee passage to the third round of the qualification series, as the team continues its quest to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
