Ikorodu City FC have confirmed the departure of their highly-rated defender Harrison Uzondu, who has completed a permanent transfer to Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC.
The Lagos-based club, fondly nicknamed the Oga Boys, announced the move through their official X handle but withheld details of the contract agreement.
Uzondu, who was one of the standout performers in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season, has already linked up with his new teammates in Austria and begun training ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
His remarkable displays in midfield not only boosted Ikorodu City’s profile but also earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles B squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where he further showcased his talent on the continental stage.
In their farewell message, Ikorodu City expressed pride in Uzondu’s progress and wished him success in Europe, stating that the move reflects the club’s commitment to developing players capable of competing at the highest levels.
The transfer represents a significant step in Uzondu’s career, as he becomes one of the latest NPFL exports to secure a move to Europe. Wolfsberger AC will be hoping his energy, vision, and composure in midfield can make an immediate impact in the Austrian Bundesliga.
