Nigerian football sensation Kelechi Iheanacho has sealed a move to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic, marking a new chapter in his career.
Iheanacho, who turned 29 in October, has joined Celtic on a one-year deal with an option to extend for another year.
Iheanacho’s contract with Sevilla was terminated on transfer deadline day, paving the way for his move to Celtic.
Before joining Celtic, Iheanacho was linked with several clubs, including Turkish Super Lig clubs Besiktas and Samsunspor, Mexican side Pumas UNAM, and newly-promoted La Liga club Real Oviedo.
As a free agent, Iheanacho was able to join Celtic despite the Premiership window closing on Monday.
Iheanacho will work under his former Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. The two previously worked together at Leicester City, where Iheanacho scored crucial goals, including the winning goal in the 2021 FA Cup semi-final against Southampton.
