Nigerian Striker Cyriel Dessers Makes Move To Greek Giants Panathinaikos

‎Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers has officially joined Greek heavyweights Panathinaikos from Rangers on a three-year contract.

‎ The transfer was confirmed by Rangers in a statement on transfer deadline day.

‎During his time with Rangers, Dessers scored 52 goals in over 100 appearances, winning a League Cup and finishing as the SPFL Premiership’s top scorer. He also claimed the prestigious Sam English Bowl award.

‎Dessers will now join his Super Eagles teammates ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa in Group C. The matches are scheduled for:

‎Super Eagles vs. Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on the 6th of September while South Africa vs. Super Eagles will be held  in Bloemfontein on September 9th

‎The transfer fee for Dessers’ move to Panathinaikos is reportedly around £3.5m, with the striker agreeing to a three-year deal. He will wear the number 33 jersey at his new club.
