Abia Warriors suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nasarawa United in their matchday two encounter, with Ugochukwu Leonard’s stunning goal proving to be the difference.
Despite the loss, Abia Warriors coach Imama Amapakabo was not overly disappointed with his team’s performance.
”We lost, you know, but we have to go back to do a whole lot in terms of what we were able to do today,” Amapakabo said. “The game was ours to win or lose, but we were not clinical in front of goal, but I think we lost the game ourselves.”
Amapakabo attributed the loss to Abia Warriors’ inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
The coach believes that Abia Warriors lost the game themselves due to their lack of clinical finishing.
Amapakabo’s comments suggest that Abia Warriors will look to work on their finishing and learn from their mistakes to improve their performance in the league.
Despite the loss, the coach acknowledged that the game was not entirely bad, except for the scoreline.
Abia Warriors will embark on another trip to Bauchi this weekend to face Wikki Tourists
