The stage is set for a thrilling semi-final encounter in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) as Nigeria’s Super Falcons prepare to face off against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.

The Super Falcons will be looking to avenge their defeat to South Africa in the 2022 edition of the tournament, where the South Africans emerged victorious and claimed their first-ever WAFCON title.
However, the Super Falcons have had the upper hand in their recent encounters, including a 1-0 aggregate win over South Africa in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games final round qualifiers.
South Africa secured their spot in the semi-finals after defeating Senegal 4-1 in a penalty shootout in their quarter-final match.
The match had ended goalless after extra time, but the South Africans showed their composure and skill in the penalty shootout

The Super Falcons’ semi-final match against South Africa will be accompanied by another exciting encounter between hosts Morocco and Ghana’s Black Queens.
The Black Queens reached the semi-finals after defeating Algeria 4-2 in a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw after extra time.
