President Federation Cup Runners-Up Abakaliki FC In Road Mishap

Abakaliki FC, the President Federation Cup men’s runners-up, were involved in a minor road accident on Sunday while returning to their base in Ebonyi State.
The incident occurred at Ore in Ondo State due to brake failure.
According to the club’s media officer, Chukwuma Ogbonna, the team’s 18-seater bus hit a truck in front of them, damaging the front light. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the accident was not serious.
Ogbonna confirmed the incident, stating, “Yes, it’s true we were involved in an accident but it was not that serious.” The team has already continued their journey.
Abakaliki FC, formed in 2024, had a remarkable run in the President Federation Cup, reaching the final before losing to Kwara United on penalties.
They defeated top sides like Enyimba, Katsina United, Nasarawa United, and Ikorodu City en route to the final.
