Daniel Akpeyi’s Future Uncertain After Marumo Gallants Release

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has parted ways with South African club Marumo Gallants, with the club releasing nine players ahead of the new season.
Akpeyi joined the club on a free transfer last summer.
He made seven league appearances for Marumo Gallants during the 2024/25 season.
The 38-year-old has spent his entire professional career in South Africa, playing for Chippa United, Kaizer Chiefs, Moroka Swallows, and now Marumo Gallants.
It is unclear whether Akpeyi will retire from football or seek a new club.
