NWFL: Coach Aduku Targets League Title,CAF Champions League Trophy As Edo Queens Leave For Super Six

BENIN CITY – THE Head Coach of Edo Queens Football Club Moses Adukwu,has stated that his desire and new target for his team is to retain the Nigeria women league title and win the 2025 CAF Championship League.
The ambitious Edo Queens coach made the disclosure while speaking in Benin City at a press parley, saying that he has won the premier league title twice with two different clubs -Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens and that he is now hungry for the biggest title on the continent.
He said that he is a coach that likes challenges and wants to break record in wherever he finds himself.
Coach Adukwu expressed his confidence that the team was ready to retain the league title they won last season to enable them realized their ambition of representing the country in the champion League again to fight for the trophy.
The NWFL defending champions conquered West Africa before going into the Women CAF Champions league proper where they finished as 4th best team in Africa in Casablanca, Morocco last season
He however admitted that he is still not satisfied with his team performance and achievements despite their excellent run of form in the just concluded abridged league, winning the group A.. “It has been a very good season for us but I am not satisfied. However, we will ensure we win the Super Six so that we can realize our ambition of playing in the Champions League.
” We are going to Ikenne,Ogun state for the super six with empty bag but we are coming back with the bag full.
“I will be the most experienced league coach at the Super Six, having attended the competition most times among the other coaches that will be there. I also have good players who are on the same page with me.
“We have the support of the Edo State Sports Commission led by Hon Amadin Enabulele, while the state government has also given us strong financial backing. So,we are ready. We will go to the Super Six to do Edo people proud.”He emphasized.
Edo Queens defeated Confluence Queen of Kogi 2-0, in the last group A fixture on Wednesday, winning 11 games, drawing two and losing one to qualify for the Super Six which is the final route to the NPFWL title.
Meanwhile, Edo Queens on Thursday left Benin for Lagos to honour the Federation’s cup round of 16 engagement with Osun Babes.
The match is scheduled for Saturday,May 3,2025.
The team is expected to move to Ikenne, Ogun state after their federation cup match with Osun Babes.
