The Kogi United club’s Chairman, Honourable Abdulmalik Isah, praised Opana’s experience and discipline to ensure the club’s success in the Confluence State.
He also urged him to display resilience, determination, hardwork, and passion for the job.
Opana’s appointment was based on his track records with various Nigerian football clubs, and he aimed to ensure Kogi United Fc’s promotion to the second tier of the Nigerian league.
However, Isah also praised the Kogi State government for its unwavering support of the state teams.
Opana thanked the management for appointing him and promised to work hard to achieve the mandate to return the club to the Nigeria National League at the end of the upcoming nationwide League One season.
Opana will be assisted by Coaches Mohammed Yusuf, Abdulazeez Adeiza, and Taiye Ojo.
Kogi United Fc, which narrowly missed promotion last season, will begin the quest for a return to the Nigeria National League in April 2025.
