The week 6 nwfl premiership matches were concluded with Abia Angels fc of Aba returning back to the Umuahia township stadium with a 1-0 win against a youthful Ekiti Queens fc of Ekiti.
The youthful attacker Chiamaka Ojialor 21 minutes jab after a quick counter attack combination after Lucky Mary out paced her markers to set up Chiamaka Ojialor to score for the Enyimba ladies to make the difference between the two teams.
The visiting Ekiti Queens fc showed character after the resumption of the second half made more incursions into the Abia Angels fc goal area but goalkeeper Osinachi Abani of Abia Angels fc made important saves to secure the maximum points for her team.
The head coach Adanna Nnah of Abia Angels fc bared her mind about the match ” It was Abit difficult for us today because we didn’t convert most of our goal scoring opportunities we had today but on the positive side we also scored to secure the points for the day so we will look ahead for the next game like I had told the players that we must not drop points carelessly in future so we can remain in contention for the super 6.’
Abia Angels fc now have 10 points from 6 games and will face Dannaz ladies next week in Lagos.
