FC Basira of Lafia continues its fairytale in the second tier of Nigeria football as Ibrahim Adamu strike salvage a point in Kebbi.
Both teams had gone into the fixture with high expectations after a draw in their respective MD3 fixtures in Gombe and Lafia respectively.
The game saw the home side Kebbi United gone in front in early stage with an easy finishing from a speedy winger K. Suleiman in seventh minute of the game.
Despite the chances created, Basira FC fail to hit the target with the trio Igbudu Alpha, Isma’il Kana and Namdom Emmanuel coming so close.
Upon returning from the break, Basira made a significant substitution with introduction of Ibrahim Adamu, Timothy Sule and Usman Usman, all came off the bench to reinforce the attacking line for Basira.
Just Six minutes to the stoppage time, the Lafia-based however capitalized on the corner kick advantage as Ibrahim Adamu had a comfortable Chase control in the box before rose to deliver an incredible acrobatic into the net to salvage Basira FC from embarrassment in Birnin Kebbi.
Further attempts on goal from both sides attuned to nothing as FC Basira’s fairytale continues with an important point away from home.
The Baffa boys will now welcome Adamawa United at the Lafia City Stadium on Saturday, January 18th in one of the MD5 fixtures of the NNL Conference D encounter.
