The curtain has fallen on the 2024 Ekiti State Governor’s Cup, a tournament that delivered passion, skill, and unforgettable moments. Christ School Ado-Ekiti emerged as the deserving champion after a commanding 3-0 victory over Efon High School in a gripping final match that showcased the depth of young football talent in the state.
From the outset, Christ School’s dominance was evident. Their tactical discipline, creative playmaking, and clinical finishing left Efon High School struggling to keep pace. Goals came from across the team, each celebrated by an electrified crowd that had gathered to witness this spectacle.
The third-place match was equally intense, with Community Grammar School Kota clinching the bronze medal after a hard-fought 3-0 win over Government College Ikere. Both teams displayed resilience and determination, earning applause from spectators and dignitaries alike.
The grand finale was graced by notable personalities, including former FA Chairman Chief Taiwo Odebumi, and sports advocates like Mr. Lekan Adeleke and Mr. Yinka Akeem. Dr. Olusola Osetoba represented Governor Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, delivering a powerful speech on behalf of the Governor.

He reiterated the commitment of Peculiar Ultimate Concerns to giving back to the State and the youth through the Competition, saying it’s going to get bigger and bigger with time.
