Oyo SWAN, Ibadan Football Council Unveil SWAN/IFC 5 Aside Gala Competition

In a bid to foster unity and camaraderie among Sports Writers’ and media houses in Oyo State, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State Chapter, in conjunction with the Ibadan Football Council, is organizing a one-day football gala competition tagged ‘SWAN/IFC 5 Aside Gala Competition’.
Scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the 5-aside pitch of the Olubadan Stadium, Ibadan, the competition promises to be an exciting encounter among media houses in the state.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ibadan Football Council Chairman, Mogaji Rotimi Ali, emphasized the need for unity among sportscasters, stressing that the sponsorship of the event is aimed at promoting fraternization.
Oyo SWAN Chairman, Otunba Ayomiku Ajibola, charged sports writers to remain united and committed to their duties, while also urging fans to come out en masse to support their favorite sports writers and OAPs.
The competition, which starts from the Round of 16, will see winners proceed to the Round of 8 (quarter finals). The draw has been released, with the following fixtures:
– Correspondent vs Yes FM (8:00 am)
– Tribune vs I-Flier (8:30 am)
– IBR vs Solutions FM (9:00 am)
– ARGOC vs Splash FM (9:30 am)
– Omoluabi vs Star FM (10:00 am)
– NTA vs Oke Ogun Federated (10:30 am)
– Fresh FM vs BCOS (11:00 am)
– Wells Radio vs JDN (11:30 am)
