Coach Banjo Adepoju has recorded a historic feat in Ondo State football, emerging as the first coach to lead a team through the state Sports Council to the National Sports Festival (NDG 2026) undefeated, clinching the gold medal.
Banjo also guided his team, Benfad Global FC, to win the Ondo State Bet9ja U-19 Tournament without recording a single loss, achieving the milestone within weeks of the NDDC sports festival triumph.
Speaking on the achievement, stakeholders described the Adepoju’s performance as a testament to hard work, discipline and strategic leadership.
They noted that the team’s unbeaten run in both competitions reflected a high level of coordination, resilience and technical excellence.
“The coach has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, bringing out the best in his players and setting a new benchmark for football development in the state,” they noted.
They said that the accomplishment would serve as motivation for upcoming coaches and players in Ondo State to strive for excellence.
