Former Super Falcons Media Officer, Oluchi Tobex Tobe-Chukwu, has expressed profound appreciation to the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, following her appointment as Media Aide – Strategic Communication.

 

In a heartfelt statement shared on her official Facebook page, Tobe-Chukwu described her appointment as “a new chapter in service” and “gratitude in motion,” underscoring her commitment to advancing strategic communication within Nigeria’s sports ecosystem.

 

“I am deeply honoured to announce my appointment as the Media Aide – Strategic Communication to the Director General of the National Sports Commission,” she stated. “To be handpicked by a leader and an astute administrator of his calibre is both a privilege and a call to higher responsibility.”

 

Tobe-Chukwu lauded Olopade’s distinguished career in sports administration, highlighting his impactful tenure as Commissioner for Sports in Ogun State, his leadership in wheelchair basketball, involvement in football club ownership, and his contributions to the elevation of long-distance races to global standards. She described his journey as “a masterclass in leadership and passion for sports development.”

 

Reflecting on her professional journey, Tobe-Chukwu noted that her new role represents a significant milestone. She referenced her tenure as the longest-serving Media Officer of the Nigeria women’s national football team, widely regarded as Africa’s most successful women’s national team, as well as her role as a Venue Media Officer with the Confederation of African Football.

 

“Serving as your Media Aide on Strategic Communication is a milestone I am incredibly proud of,” she added. “This opportunity to work with an administrator who embodies inclusivity, excellence, and diligence is one I will not take for granted.”

 

She further expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her by the NSC leadership at a pivotal time in the Commission’s evolution, recalling the Director General’s encouraging words during a meeting in Benin City at the conclusion of the Niger Delta Games.

 

“Thank you, sir, for trusting me to manage the narrative of the Commission at such a pivotal time. Your words—‘I know your onions, you have the capacity, get to work!’—continues to inspire me,” she said.

 

Tobe-Chukwu concluded her statement with a renewed commitment to delivering excellence in her new role, pledging to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of sports development and strategic communication within the National Sports Commission.
