Grassroots players throughout Nigeria have been urged to maintain good conduct and ensure they behave appropriately as they pursue better opportunities.
This advice was given by Mr. Wale Joseph, the Coordinator of the Jagaban Cup. The esteemed administrator and journalist made these remarks following the successful conclusion of a scouting tournament on Sunday morning.
The tournament was supported by 36 Lion Investment, Diamond Sports Management, Lagos Enigma, IFMM and the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA).
In his evaluation, Wale Joseph stated that the scouting tournament was exceptional and ranks among the best in Nigeria. Commenting on the caliber of players who took part, he noted that many displayed the necessary attributes to succeed in football.
“Essentially, I assess their fighting spirit, character, speed, and techniques. The boys possess the fundamentals and mindset to thrive. In addition to these traits, attitude is crucial; one may be highly skilled and talented, but without the right attitude, establishing oneself as a footballer will be challenging,” emphasized the CEO of the Lagos State League.
In the meantime, Broad City narrowly defeated the unexpected contender Klassisch 1-0 to claim victory in the final.
FC Bethel secured third place by overcoming Ikorodu City 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The four-day event took place at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
