The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced the return of Ekiti Queens to their home ground in Ado-Ekiti following the successful completion of a venue sanction.

The sanction, which required the club to relocate their home fixtures to Abeokuta, was issued after breaches of NWFL regulations relating to matchday organisation and security protocols at their designated home venue.

Having duly served the sanction and demonstrated compliance with the league’s operational and safety standards, Ekiti Queens have been cleared to resume hosting their home matches in Ado-Ekiti, effective from Matchday 12 of the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership season.

The Southwest based club is scheduled to officially mark their return to Ado-Ekiti in Matchday 15, when they host Southwest rivals Pacesetter Queens in front of their home supporters.

In a related development, the NWFL has lifted the spectator restriction previously imposed on Ibom Angels FC home fixtures in Uyo. The sanction followed incidents involving crowd control and breaches of matchday conduct regulations, which necessitated recent home matches being played behind closed doors.

Following reviews of the South-south based club’s matchday operations, including security arrangements and adherence to league guidelines, the NWFL is satisfied that Ibom Angels have met all stipulated requirements.

Supporters will therefore be readmitted to the stadium beginning with the club’s Matchday 12 fixture against Adamawa Queens on Wednesday.

The NWFL remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and integrity across all match venues, and commends both clubs for their cooperation and compliance during the period of their respective sanctions.
