‎… As Ogbia LGA Preliminary Fixtures Wind Down this Weekend

‎Edi 1 FC of Ayakoro have qualified for the next round of Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football tournament, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament tagged the Prosperity Cup.

‎Edi 1 FC pummeled Hummels Jnr FC of Otuokpoti by three goals to nil to keep their hopes of qualifying for the round of 32 intact. Captain Super gave the Ayakoro side the lead on 30 minutes from a gifted header. Armstrong Junior doubled the scoreline on 56 minutes from a perfect finish while James Christopher made it 3-0 on 69 minutes, having wasted scoring chances in the game.

‎Diamond FC of Okodi in the last match at the Otuokpoti centre, triumphed three nil over Okodi FC, to set up the final centre tie on Friday 20th March, 2026 against Edi 1 FC.

Harry Chaplain’s second half brace on 50 and 56 minutes as well as Collinus Felix’s goal on 51 minutes was enough to see Diamond FC into the next phase of the tournament.

‎In the meantime, final fixtures of matches in the preliminary round of the competition will come up on Thursday 19th March, 2026 in four different centres in Ogbia Local Government Area as search to secure a place in the round of 32 gets tougher.

‎The Prosperity Cup preliminary train will move to Ekeremor and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas this weekend as Yenagoa LGA gets underway soon.
