Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu delivered another outstanding performance as Trabzonspor secured an important away victory over Kayserispor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Monday night.
The towering forward scored twice in the encounter, continuing his remarkable scoring form for the Black Sea Storm. His latest goals mean he has now found the back of the net in nine consecutive matches, underlining his importance to the Trabzonspor attack this season.
The match took an early dramatic turn when Kayserispor were reduced to 10 men in the eighth minute after Dorukhan Toköz was shown a red card. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the hosts held firm for most of the contest.
However, Trabzonspor finally broke the deadlock deep into added time of the first half when Onuachu rose highest to power home a header, giving the visitors a deserved lead.
Moments later, the Nigerian international struck again from the penalty spot five minutes into added time to seal the victory and complete his brace.
The goals took Onuachu’s tally to an impressive 20 goals and two assists in just 21 league appearances this season. The prolific striker now sits comfortably as the top scorer in the Turkish Süper Lig, further cementing his reputation as one of the most lethal forwards in the league.
Trabzonspor will be hoping their in-form Nigerian talisman continues his scoring streak as they push for a strong finish to the season.
