NasGovCup26: Karu LG Crowned Champions As NFF President Praises Nasarawa State Governor

A sensational brace from Ewa Samuel and a well-taken strike by Chinedu Okorie powered Karu Local Government to a resounding triumph at the Nasarawa State Governor’s Cup final, sealing their place as champions of #NasGovCup26.
Karu LG delivered a dominant performance on the grand stage, showcasing attacking brilliance and defensive discipline to claim the ultimate prize of the prestigious grassroots tournament.
In the loser’s final, goals from Paul Bako and Shittu Ola gave Keffi LG the bragging rights against Keana Local Government.
With the result, Karu LG were handed a check of ₦5,000,000 for emerging Champions while Wamba LG settled for the sum of ₦3,000,000 after finishing second.
Speaking after the game, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau praised Engr. Abdullahi Sule for his drive in promoting sports and infrastructural development.
“His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule is a man that has done well in terms of sports development in Nasarawa State”.
“He has done well to promote football in Nasarawa State and kudos must go to the State FA Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima for staging a successful tournament’.
“This is what we preach, create an avenue where youths can be engaged by displaying their God’s given talent”.
The Wafu Zone ‘B’ President however rounded up by saying he hopes to bring one of the National teams to Lafia.
“With what is happening here in Lafia in terms of football, we’ll bring one of the national teams down to Lafia, he concluded”.

Top Scorer: Paul Bako (Keffi)
Most Valuable Player (MVP): Haruna Abubakar (Karu)
Best Coach: Karu LG Coach
Most Disciplined Team: Nasarawa LG
Best Supporter of the Year: Sulieman Makalele.
