Benab Football Club produced a commanding and disciplined performance to defeat Obuasi Still Hope FC 3–0 in their Ghana Division Two League Zone Three fixture under the Ashanti Regional Football Association.
From the blast of the first whistle, Benab asserted their authority and silenced the home crowd with an early breakthrough. Within the opening 10 minutes, a swift attacking move carved open Obuasi’s defence, and Benab clinically finished to take a deserved lead.
The early setback forced Obuasi Still Hope to respond. The hosts pushed forward aggressively, earning several set pieces as they searched for an equalizer. Their persistence paid off midway through the first half when they were awarded a penalty in the 20th minute. However, the opportunity went begging, much to the frustration of the home supporters, as Benab remained composed and dangerous on the counterattack.
Benab capitalized on their momentum by doubling their advantage before the break. A well-worked move ended with a confident finish that silenced the home fans and gave the visitors firm control of the contest.
The second half began with renewed urgency from Obuasi Still Hope, who pressed higher and attempted to exploit gaps in Benab’s defensive line. The match took a dramatic turn when the hosts were awarded another penalty following an incident inside the box. In the build-up, an off-ball altercation led to a red card being shown to Benab’s goalkeeper.
After consultation, however, the referee ruled that the infringement occurred off the ball and subsequently canceled the penalty decision. Despite voiding the penalty, the red card stood, reducing Benab to ten men and sparking tension and confusion around the pitch.
Facing numerical disadvantage, Benab reorganized swiftly and defended resolutely. Obuasi Still Hope struggled to make their extra man count, while Benab continued to threaten on the break with swift counterattacks.
Deep into stoppage time, Benab put the result beyond doubt with a third goal, sealing an emphatic away victory and underlining their dominance.
The result sees Benab FC maintain their position at the top of the Division Two zone three standings with 31 points, while Obuasi Still Hope remain rooted to the bottom with just four points.
