ARFA:Five-Star Performance Sees Opel FC Hammer White Angels FC

TAFO Opel FC delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday as they thrashed White Angels FC 5-1 in an exciting Ashanti Regional Football Association Division Three fixture played at the Kokoase AstroTurf.

 

Dressed in their traditional blue and white kits, Opel FC showcased attacking brilliance and defensive solidity against White Angels FC, who appeared in yellow and blue.

 

The match began with early pressure from both sides. White Angels won a free kick in the 6th minute, signaling their intent, but Opel quickly responded with a corner in the 7th minute.

 

Opel continued to mount pressure with consecutive corner kicks in the 11th and 13th minutes. A 14th-minute header from Opel narrowly sailed over the bar, keeping the game goalless momentarily.

 

In the 18th minute, Opel earned a dangerous free kick, setting the tone for what was to come. Just a minute later, they broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal to make it 1-0.

 

After a brief cooling break in the 31st minute, Opel resumed with even greater intensity. Within a minute of play restarting, they doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute to go 2-0 up.

 

Opel continued to dominate proceedings, winning another free kick in the 39th minute before extending their lead further in the 40th minute with a third goal. The first half ended with Opel firmly in control at 3-0.

 

 

White Angels attempted a comeback in the second half, earning corner kicks in the 48th and 53rd minutes. However, their efforts failed to yield results. Opel received a yellow card during this period but remained focused.

 

The game continued with Opel earning a corner in the 60th minute, while White Angels secured a free kick in the 65th minute.

 

Tensions rose as White Angels’ number 20 received a yellow card in the 70th minute, with Opel awarded a free kick shortly after.

 

White Angels kept pushing, earning another free kick in the 74th minute.

 

Opel won a corner in the 77th minute but suffered a setback when their number 14 received a second yellow card, reducing them to ten men.

Despite being a man down, Opel remained resolute.

 

White Angels had a dangerous free kick in the 90th minute, but Opel defended strongly. In stoppage time (90+2), Opel earned a corner kick and capped off the match with a fifth goal to seal an emphatic 5-1 victory.

 

At full-time, Opel FC celebrated a dominant and well-deserved win, strengthening their campaign in the Ashanti Regional FA Division Three.

 

Opel FC’s five-star performance underlined their attacking prowess and determination, making a strong statement in the competition.
