Sporting Supreme FC Jet Off To Senegal For 2026 Africa Challenge Cup

Sporting Supreme FC of Abuja, Nigeria, have departed for Senegal ahead of their participation in the 2026 Africa Challenge Cup, scheduled to run from February 9 to February 14.
The Abuja-based side will represent Nigeria at the prestigious youth football tournament, which brings together some of the continent’s most respected academies and emerging football institutions.

Sporting Supreme FC are among ten teams drawn from five African countries Senegal, Mali, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Guinea—set to compete in what promises to be a highly competitive showcase of young talent.
The participating teams include Diambars FC, Generation Foot, Dial Diop SC, Espoirs Guédiawaye (all of Senegal), Afrique Football Elite, Centre Sportif de Bamako and Étoiles du Mandé (Mali), New Stars FC (Burkina Faso), Académie Coyah (Guinea), and Sporting Supreme FC of Nigeria.
For the group stage, the teams have been divided into two groups of five.
Group A features Diambars FC, Dial Diop SC, Sporting Supreme FC, Étoiles du Mandé and New Stars FC.
Group B consists of Afrique Football Elite, Centre Sportif de Bamako, Generation Foot, Espoirs Guédiawaye and Académie Coyah.
Speaking ahead of the team’s departure, Sporting Supreme FC General Manager, Ismail Hamza, popularly known as Veron, described the Africa Challenge Cup as an important platform for development and exposure.
He noted that the tournament offers Sporting Supreme FC the opportunity to measure their progress against some of Africa’s best academies while also giving their players international visibility.
Ismail expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and emphasized that the club’s objective is not only to compete but to make a strong statement, gain valuable experience, and continue the club’s mission of nurturing players capable of succeeding at the highest levels of the game.
The Africa Challenge Cup is an annual international tournament organized by Sports Agency Bright Management Group in partnership with Diambars Academy.
Since its inception, the competition has grown in stature, earning recognition as a key platform for identifying and promoting football talent across Africa, with a strong focus on youth development in Senegal and beyond.
As Sporting Supreme FC take on the continental challenge, the Abuja side will be looking to fly Nigeria’s flag proudly and leave a lasting impression at the 2026 edition of the Africa Challenge Cup in Senegal.
