Paul Onuachu endured a night of mixed fortunes as Trabzonspor were held to a 1–1 draw by Antalyaspor in their Turkish Super Lig encounter on Friday.

The Nigerian striker found the back of the net but also missed a crucial penalty that could have sealed all three points for the Black Sea Storm.

Antalyaspor took the lead just two minutes before halftime through Sander van de Streek, putting the hosts under pressure going into the break.

Trabzonspor responded strongly after the restart, with Onuachu winning a penalty early in the second half.

The 31-year-old stepped up confidently and calmly dispatched the spot-kick past Antalyaspor goalkeeper Julian to restore parity.

However, drama unfolded late in the game when Trabzonspor were awarded another penalty with 11 minutes remaining.

Onuachu once again assumed responsibility, but this time his effort failed to find the target, denying his side a potential winner.

Despite the miss, Onuachu continues to enjoy an impressive season in Turkey. He has now scored 13 goals in the league, making him joint top scorer alongside Istanbul Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov.

Trabzonspor remain third on the Turkish Super Lig table with 42 points, sitting four points behind league leaders Galatasaray as the title race intensifies.
