Nottingham Forest Women have officially announced the signing of Super Falcons striker Joy Omewa, marking a significant addition to their attacking options ahead of the new season.
The Nigerian forward joins the English club from Danish giants Fortuna Hjørring, where she enjoyed an impressive and highly productive spell. Omewa has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep her at Nottingham Forest until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The 23-year-old striker spent three successful years with Fortuna Hjørring, during which she established herself as one of the most lethal forwards in the Danish league. Omewa scored an outstanding 52 goals in 85 league appearances, playing a key role in the club’s domestic dominance.
During her time in Denmark, Omewa lifted the Danish Women’s Cup twice and was part of the Fortuna Hjørring squad that clinched the Kvindeligaen league title in the 2024/25 season, further underlining her pedigree as a proven winner.
On the international stage, Omewa has represented Nigeria at both U-17 and U-20 levels, showcasing her talent from an early age. She has also earned two senior caps for the Super Falcons, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of women’s football.
Her move to Nottingham Forest represents a new chapter in her career, as she looks to make her mark in English football and continue her rise with both club and country.
