Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has revealed that the goal he scored in Nigeria’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Mozambique was dedicated to his mother, who was rushed to the hospital earlier on matchday.
Adams capped a dominant display by the Super Eagles on Monday night by netting Nigeria’s fourth goal against the Mambas of Mozambique, sealing the team’s progression into the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Beyond finding the back of the net, the striker delivered an all-round performance, registering two assists and playing a key role in Nigeria’s attacking dominance throughout the encounter.
Speaking after the match, Adams disclosed the emotional motivation behind his goal, explaining that his thoughts were firmly with his mother during the game.
