‎Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has revealed that the goal he scored in Nigeria’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Mozambique was dedicated to his mother, who was rushed to the hospital earlier on matchday.

‎Adams capped a dominant display by the Super Eagles on Monday night by netting Nigeria’s fourth goal against the Mambas of Mozambique, sealing the team’s progression into the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

‎Beyond finding the back of the net, the striker delivered an all-round performance, registering two assists and playing a key role in Nigeria’s attacking dominance throughout the encounter.

‎Speaking after the match, Adams disclosed the emotional motivation behind his goal, explaining that his thoughts were firmly with his mother during the game.

‎“The goal is dedicated to my mum,” Adams said. “She was rushed to the hospital this morning.”
