‎The All Sports Supporters’ Club of Nigeria, under the leadership of its President, Barrister Johnson Dagana, has expressed excitement and satisfaction with the Super Eagles’ winning start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following their 2–1 victory over Tanzania.

‎The Nigerian senior men’s national team kicked off their AFCON campaign on a positive note, thanks to crucial goals from defender Semi Ajayi and forward Ademola Lookman, whose strikes secured all three points for the Eagles in their opening Group C encounter. The victory has been widely welcomed by football stakeholders and fans across the country.

‎In a statement released after the match, Barrister Dagana described the win as “encouraging and confidence-boosting,” noting that starting a major tournament with a victory is vital for team morale and overall progression. He commended the players for their resilience and determination, especially in a tightly contested match against a spirited Tanzanian side.

‎The All Sports Supporters’ Club particularly praised the goal scorers for stepping up when it mattered most, while also acknowledging the collective effort of the entire squad and technical crew in securing a positive result.
‎However, the supporters’ group stressed the need for improvement as the tournament progresses.

‎While applauding the win, Barrister Dagana urged the Super Eagles to raise their level of performance in subsequent matches, emphasizing that tougher opponents lie ahead in the competition.

‎“The victory is a good foundation, but the team must improve in all departments—tactically, technically, and mentally—if they are to go far in the tournament,” the statement read. “The Super Eagles have the quality and depth to compete for the title, but consistency and sharper performances will be key.”

‎The All Sports Supporters’ Club reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Super Eagles throughout the AFCON campaign and called on Nigerians at home and abroad to continue rallying behind the team as they push for continental glory.

‎The supporters concluded by wishing the team success in their remaining group matches and beyond, expressing optimism that with improved displays, the Super Eagles can make the nation proud at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
